Role: Head of Secondary Music

Dubai Heights Academy is looking for an enthusiastic Head of Secondary Music with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional music education. This role involves guiding the Music & Performing Arts Department while inspiring students through engaging lessons and creative performances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality GCSE Music lessons in line with the National Curriculum for England.
• Lead the Music & Performing Arts Department, ensuring the delivery of outstanding music programs across all key stages.
• Develop and implement strategies to support the transition of music education into KS5, preparing students for A-Level Music.
• Organize and direct school performances such as musicals, plays, and concerts that showcase student talent.
• Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with staff to integrate music across various subjects and school events.
• Inspire and mentor students, encouraging participation in music activities, clubs, and extracurricular opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of teaching and learning by promoting innovative teaching strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• B.Ed. degree or PGCE/PGDE with strong subject knowledge in Music Education.
• At least three years’ experience teaching music within the National Curriculum for England to GCSE level.
• Experience in leading and developing a successful Music & Performing Arts Department.
• Proven ability to organize and deliver successful school productions, including musicals and plays.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for fostering student engagement through creative learning.
• A commitment to professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
