This school is based in Mansourieh El Metn, Lebanon and is looking for a Head of Student Affairs. 

Overview:

Eastwood International School is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our leadership team as the Head of Student Affairs. The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of student support services, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment that promotes student well-being and success. This is a full-time position, starting from the academic year 2024/25.

Responsibilities:
Student Support and Development:
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive student support programs that address academic, social, and emotional needs.
  2. Oversee counseling services, student welfare, and behavior management programs.
  3. Coordinate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide necessary support for students.
  4. Monitor student progress and intervene as needed to ensure student success.

 

Leadership and Management:
  1. Lead the Student Affairs team, including counselors, support staff, and coordinators.
  2. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to student welfare and discipline.
  3. Ensure compliance with school policies and accreditation standards.
  4. Provide professional development and training for staff on student support issues.

 

Community Engagement:
  1. Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that encourages student engagement and participation.
  2. Organize and oversee student activities, clubs, and extracurricular programs.
  3. Engage with parents and the school community to build strong relationships and support networks.
  4. Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, behavior, and well-being.

 

Operational and Administrative Duties:
  1. Manage the student affairs budget and allocate resources effectively.
  2. Oversee the maintenance of accurate student records and reports.
  3. Ensure the effective use of technology in student support services.
  4. Handle disciplinary issues and implement appropriate interventions and consequences.

 

Strategic Planning and Development:
  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan.
  2. Identify and pursue opportunities for improving student support services.
  3. Stay informed about best practices and trends in student affairs and education.
  4. Collaborate with school leadership to align student support initiatives with the overall mission and vision of the school.

 

Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within student affairs or a related area.
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to a student-centered approach to education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using technology for student support and administrative functions.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
