Role Overview
The High School English Teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in English literature, composition, and language arts. The teacher will encourage students to develop strong analytical, reading, and writing skills while promoting creativity and independent thought. This role also involves mentoring students, supporting their growth, and fostering a love for literature and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English literature and composition to high school students
- Design and implement creative, inquiry-based lesson plans
- Guide students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills
- Provide constructive feedback on written and oral work
- Integrate a biblical worldview into classroom discussions and learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular initiatives
- Maintain regular communication with parents and the wider school community
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in international or Christian schools
- Strong knowledge of English literature and language arts instruction
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Familiarity with international or American curricula
- Commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and faith integration
