Role Overview
The High School Social Studies Teacher will teach courses such as world history, U.S. history, government, and economics. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically, engage with historical and contemporary issues, and understand their role as global citizens. This position also involves mentoring students, contributing to extracurricular activities, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver a holistic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in social studies subjects
- Develop students’ critical thinking, research, and analytical skills
- Integrate Biblical principles into classroom discussions and teaching
- Assess and monitor student progress with varied assessment tools
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to support student growth
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school-wide events
- Incorporate technology to enhance teaching and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, ideally in an international or Christian school setting
- Strong subject knowledge in history, government, and related fields
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to professional growth and Christian education values
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
