Role Overview
The IB DP Computer Science Teacher will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ knowledge of algorithms, programming, data structures, and computational thinking. This role involves preparing students for IB assessments, encouraging innovation, and integrating real-world applications of computer science into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB DP Computer Science in line with IB curriculum standards
- Design interactive, student-centered lessons that promote inquiry and problem-solving
- Prepare students for exams, coursework, and research projects
- Incorporate new technologies and programming tools into lessons
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance STEM initiatives across the school
- Guide students in applying computer science to real-world issues and innovations
- Participate in professional development and contribute to wider school initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, ideally with IB or international curricula
- Strong expertise in computer science, coding, and digital tools
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching practices
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multicultural community
