Role Overview
The IB DP Physics Teacher will deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme curriculum. The teacher will guide students through complex scientific concepts, encourage analytical thinking, and support them in developing strong research and practical investigation skills. Beyond classroom teaching, the role includes contributing to residential life, co-curricular activities, and service programs that define the LPCUWC experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB Diploma Physics with a focus on inquiry, problem-solving, and real-world application.
- Supervise Internal Assessments and support students with Extended Essays in physics.
- Design creative and challenging lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development.
- Provide academic guidance and constructive feedback to support student success.
- Participate actively in residential duties, extracurricular activities, and EOTC programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in IB or international schools.
- Strong knowledge of the IB Diploma Physics curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to professional growth, innovation, and the UWC mission.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English; additional languages are beneficial.
