Role Overview
The IB MYP PE/Health Teacher will deliver engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy living. The role requires an educator who can design and implement a comprehensive physical education program aligned with IB standards. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore different forms of physical activity and understand the importance of holistic wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver physical education and health lessons that meet IB MYP learning objectives
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment for all students
- Encourage participation in sports, fitness, and recreational activities
- Integrate technology and data to track fitness progress and student development
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Promote healthy lifestyle habits and social-emotional learning
- Organize and support school-wide sporting events and extracurricular activities
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to school initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum three years of teaching experience in PE or Health within an international curriculum setting
- Familiarity with IB MYP Physical and Health Education frameworks
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Commitment to student-centered learning and holistic development
- Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching tools in PE instruction
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
