Role Overview: IB PYP English Teacher

The IB PYP English Teacher will design and implement engaging, inquiry-based English language and literacy lessons that align with the IB PYP framework. The teacher will cultivate a learning environment that supports language acquisition, critical thinking, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver differentiated English instruction to support diverse learning needs
• Plan units that align with the IB PYP curriculum framework and learning objectives
• Encourage reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through creative strategies
• Foster a classroom culture of collaboration, inquiry, and respect
• Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
• Communicate regularly with parents to support student progress
• Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams
• Integrate technology to enhance student learning and engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, IB Certification)
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB PYP school
• Strong knowledge of early literacy instruction and inquiry-based learning
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken
• Passion for teaching in a multicultural, international school setting
• Willingness to grow professionally and contribute to school initiatives
