Role Overview
The IBDP English Teacher will teach the IB Diploma Programme English Language and Literature curriculum to students in Grades 11 and 12. Through interactive lessons and reflective learning practices, the teacher will support students in developing strong analytical skills, research capabilities, and mastery of academic writing. This role plays a key part in preparing learners for higher education and global opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature using inquiry-based and student-centered teaching methods
- Foster strong critical thinking, creative expression, and effective communication skills
- Assess student learning thoughtfully and provide regular feedback
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum planning and delivery
- Integrate digital learning tools to enhance academic outcomes
- Participate in co-curricular programs, school initiatives, and professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related subject
- Valid teaching certification such as QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the senior secondary level
- Experience with the IB Diploma Programme or other international curricula is highly preferred
- Strong classroom management and clear communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional learning
- Ability to build positive relationships within a multicultural environment
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Confidence in using technology to support teaching and learning
