Role Overview
The IBDP Music Teacher will lead students through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Music, developing their performance, composition, and music analysis skills. The successful candidate will encourage artistic expression, foster creativity, and prepare students for both IB assessments and future studies in music.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IBDP Music in alignment with IB curriculum standards
- Design engaging lessons that inspire creativity and critical listening
- Support students in music performance, composition, and theory
- Guide students in preparing for IB examinations and assessments
- Integrate technology to enhance music education and practice
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the Arts Department
- Encourage student participation in concerts, recitals, and school events
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and the school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, ideally within the IB framework
- Strong knowledge of music performance, theory, and composition
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for teaching in a diverse, multicultural environment
- Commitment to professional development and innovative teaching
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Ability to inspire students and cultivate a passion for music
