Role Overview
As an IBDP Spanish Teacher, you will deliver the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Spanish curriculum with a focus on language acquisition, intercultural understanding, and communication. You will create engaging lessons that develop students’ proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Spanish, while connecting language learning to real-world cultural experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging IBDP Spanish lessons aligned with IB guidelines
- Develop interactive language learning experiences that promote fluency and comprehension
- Assess student progress and provide detailed, constructive feedback
- Incorporate technology to enhance the classroom experience
- Encourage students to appreciate Hispanic cultures and global perspectives
- Support students in developing independent learning and inquiry skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence and interdisciplinary connections
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and cultural events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or a related discipline
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in IB or international schools
- Strong knowledge of the IBDP Spanish curriculum and teaching methodology
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for fostering global citizenship and multicultural awareness
- Proficiency in integrating technology into language instruction
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and innovative teaching practices
