Position Summary:

The International School of Hyderabad (ISH) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing students in Spanish language and culture, fostering language proficiency, and promoting cultural awareness within our diverse educational environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding of language acquisition theories, and a commitment to student-centered learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ diverse language proficiency levels and learning styles.
• Teach Spanish language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while integrating cultural content into lessons.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods and resources to create interactive and meaningful learning experiences.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respects diverse perspectives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum goals and ensure consistency of language instruction across grade levels.
• Integrate educational technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
• Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in language teaching and pedagogy.
• Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and events.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
2. Teaching certification/license in Spanish or a relevant subject area.
3. Proficiency in Spanish language (native or near-native fluency).
4. Previous experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level, preferably in an international or multicultural setting.
5. Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and best practices in language instruction.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
7. Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to collaborate within a diverse educational community.
8. Familiarity with educational technology tools and digital resources for language teaching.
9. Commitment to fostering cultural understanding and promoting global citizenship among students.
10. Fluency in English (additional language proficiency is a plus).
11. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
