This school is based in Barcelona, Spain and is looking for a Key Stage 3 Learning Support Coordinator.

The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is dedicated to providing a high-quality education to students in a vibrant and inclusive learning environment. As part of our commitment to supporting the diverse needs of our students, we are seeking a Key Stage 3 Learning Support Coordinator for our Secondary Castelldefels campus.

Position Overview: The Key Stage 3 Learning Support Coordinator will work under the direction of the Headteacher, Director of Student Support, and Learning Support Lead for Secondary and Nexus – Castelldefels. This role involves coordinating support for students’ education and social development, ensuring inclusive practices, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of effective learning strategies for young learners.
  2. Coordinate individual and small group support tailored to students’ specific needs.
  3. Facilitate professional development conversations and contribute to staff learning to promote inclusive practices.
  4. Support staff in implementing consistent approaches to teaching and learning, adapting methods to meet individual student needs.
  5. Communicate effectively and sensitively with students and their families regarding support strategies and progress.
  6. Conduct assessments and develop plans to monitor and report student performance and progress.
  7. Prioritize student wellbeing and ensure it is integrated into all aspects of support provision.
  8. Collaborate effectively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  9. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance support practices.

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Native level of English proficiency
  • Bachelor’s Degree; further qualifications in Psychology and child development are desirable
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching/support experience; experience as SENCO or equivalent is desirable

 

Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, permanent position starting on August 26th, 2024.
