Principal Role: Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) at The Junior School in Nicosia, Cyprus, play a vital role in supporting pupils with diverse learning needs. LSAs work closely with teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, enabling all students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support for Pupils:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with varying needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• Assist pupils in understanding and completing tasks, offering one-on-one or small group support as necessary.
• Encourage pupils to develop self-confidence, independence, and social skills.

Support for Teachers:

• Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of differentiated learning activities.
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress, behavior, and engagement.
• Help with the creation and maintenance of a positive learning environment by preparing materials and resources.

Classroom Management:

• Support the implementation of behavior management strategies to promote a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
• Supervise pupils during break times, field trips, and other school activities.

Administrative Support:

• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and any incidents that occur during school hours.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and organizing classroom materials.

Professional Development:

• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Stay informed about best practices in supporting pupils with diverse needs.

General Duties:

• Uphold and promote the school’s values, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being and academic success of all pupils.
• Carry out any other duties as directed by the Principal or other senior staff.

Required Candidate Profile:

Qualifications and Experience:

• A relevant qualification in education or child development is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting.
• Experience in supporting pupils with SEND is an advantage.
