Math Teacher, International Community School of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire

This school is based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and is looking for a Math Teacher (IB MYP and IB DP)

We are currently seeking applicants who are experienced and certified as a Mathematics Educator. This role involves working on our Upper School (Secondary) Mathematics and Team, as we build and improve upon our educational program. We are specifically looking for someone who can teach the IBDP AI Math Course. The successful candidate also needs to be confident in inquiry-based teaching and learning methods, who is seeking to continue to learn and grow as an educator and learner in our community. We are looking for someone who truly wants our mission of Learning and Leading in a Collaborative Culture to come to life with their day-to-day actions inside and outside of the classroom. This position also involves being a Home Room Advisor with our advisory/ pastoral program to help our students develop holistically. 

Preferred Skills , Dispositions and Experience

  • Experience in teaching the subject to middle and high school students preferred
  • Relevant degrees and certifications
  • IBMYP experience preferred
  • IBDP Math Applications and Interpretations experience preferred
  • Exhibits patience and understanding when working with students, colleagues, parents, and our entire community
  • Willing to learn and grow with the support of the Secondary Leadership Team, Curriculum Coordinators, Instructional Coach, Learning Leaders, and other colleagues
  • Desire to work collaboratively to build and deliver a comprehensive inquiry-based program that differentiates for our varied learners
  • Competent technology skills

  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English both orally and in writing

  • Be a learner who wants to grow with us, while being willing to contribute and push our thinking as well
  • Be part of committees in order to contribute to the overall school development
  • Support our Service Learning initiatives within the curriculum and look for opportunities outside of the classroom.
  • Contribute to our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) n ways that support our students’ passions and gives them a chance to be even more well-rounded individuals
