Role Overview

The Middle/High School Music Teacher will deliver engaging and comprehensive music lessons aligned with IB frameworks (MYP and DP). The teacher will cultivate students’ musical skills through performance, composition, and theory while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and cultural appreciation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver music lessons for Middle and High School students using IB methodologies.
• Teach instrumental and vocal music, integrating both Western and world music traditions.
• Organize student performances, concerts, and collaborative projects.
• Encourage creativity through composition, improvisation, and digital music production.
• Develop students’ understanding of music theory, analysis, and appreciation.
• Foster an inclusive classroom where every learner feels supported and valued.
• Use technology to enhance music education and student engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school-wide events.
• Provide constructive feedback that supports each student’s artistic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
• Strong familiarity with IB MYP and IB DP music frameworks.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to integrate digital tools in music instruction.
• Passion for inspiring young musicians in an international school setting.
