Role Overview
As a Middle School ELA Teacher, you will design engaging lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, and communication skills. You will foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love of literature while guiding students to become confident learners. Collaboration with colleagues and active involvement in school life will be central to your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach middle school English Language Arts following international curricula
- Design and deliver creative lessons that promote literacy and critical thinking
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Integrate educational technology to enrich classroom learning
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-curricular initiatives
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community
- Support extracurricular activities and contribute to school culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in ELA or a similar subject
- Familiarity with international curricula (IB, IGCSE, AP, or similar)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning
- Ability to enrich the curriculum and support school-wide initiatives
- Enthusiasm for teaching in a multicultural international school environment
