Role Overview
As a Middle School Social Studies Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and standards-aligned instruction across key areas including history, geography, civics, and global issues. You will inspire students to think critically, ask questions, and make connections between past and present events, shaping their understanding of the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality social studies lessons for middle school students
- Integrate international curriculum frameworks (e.g., IB MYP, Cambridge) where applicable
- Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction
- Encourage inquiry-based learning and global awareness
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support student learning
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages respectful discussion
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school leadership
- Participate in school-wide events and ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching social studies at the middle school level
- Familiarity with international curricula such as IB, Cambridge, or U.S. Common Core is preferred
- Experience teaching AP courses is an advantage
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Fluent English proficiency
