This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an Arabic Language/Specialist Teacher.

Overview:

Al Ra’ed Al Arabi School is seeking a talented and passionate Arabic Language/Specialist Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. The Arabic Language/Specialist Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Arabic language and literature, while also serving as a specialist in Arabic culture, history, and literature.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Arabic language and literature instruction, covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, as well as literary analysis and appreciation.
  • Design engaging and culturally relevant lesson plans and activities that promote students’ proficiency in Arabic language and foster an appreciation for Arabic culture, heritage, and literature.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring that all learners are supported and challenged.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to take pride in their Arabic identity, language, and heritage, while also promoting cross-cultural understanding and respect.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and support to help students achieve their learning goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Arabic language and culture across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities that enhance students’ understanding of Arabic language and its significance in the global context.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for Arabic language and culture within the school community, organizing cultural events, Arabic language competitions, and other enrichment activities to celebrate and promote Arabic language and heritage.
  • Stay informed about developments in Arabic language education, literature, and culture, and participate in professional development activities to continuously improve teaching practices and pedagogy.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in Arabic Language Education.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic language.
  • Previous experience teaching Arabic language and literature at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of Arabic culture, history, and literature.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop proficiency in Arabic language and deepen their understanding of Arabic culture and heritage.
