Role Overview: Music Teacher
As a Music Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging music lessons that cultivate students’ musical abilities, creativity, and cultural appreciation. The role involves leading classroom instruction, organizing performances, and collaborating with colleagues on cross-curricular projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach general music to primary and/or secondary students
- Develop and implement a curriculum that includes theory, performance, and appreciation
- Encourage students to explore various musical genres and instruments
- Plan and lead school concerts, recitals, and special events
- Integrate music into interdisciplinary units and school celebrations
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Familiarity with international curricula such as IB, Cambridge, or similar
- Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, and performance
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Ability to integrate technology into music instruction
- Passion for teaching and commitment to student development
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and proactive in curriculum enrichment
