Role: Music Teacher (with possibility of Head of Performing Arts)
As a Music Teacher at KGIS, you will play a crucial role in inspiring students, fostering their creativity, and developing a love for music and performance. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about music education, committed to student growth, and eager to contribute to the school’s performing arts program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Music across different age groups, following the British curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging and dynamic music lessons that encourage creativity and performance
- Organize and direct school concerts, musicals, and performances
- Lead music ensembles, orchestras, or choirs, helping students develop their musical talents
- Encourage students to participate in extracurricular music activities
- Integrate technology and modern teaching strategies into music instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Performing Arts program
- If appointed as Head of Performing Arts, oversee the development of music, drama, and dance programs across the school
Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Performing Arts, or a related field
- PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent teaching qualification
- Minimum of two years of post-qualification teaching experience
- Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Music
- Proficiency in using ICT for music instruction
- High expectations for student achievement and engagement
- Strong commitment to student welfare and safeguarding (Enhanced DBS or equivalent required)
- Leadership experience in a school performing arts department is an advantage
- Previous experience in a high-performing international school is desirable
