This school is based in Saanen, Switzerland and is looking for a Music Cover or Supply Teacher.

At John F Kennedy International School, we recognize the importance of music education in fostering creativity and emotional expression. We are currently seeking a Music Cover or Supply Teacher to join our team, contributing positively to our collaborative culture and ethos.

  • Contributing positively to the collaborative culture and ethos of the school, inspiring a love for music and fostering musical talent among students.
  • Attending whole school and departmental meetings as required, actively participating in discussions and sharing insights related to music education.
  • Supporting the social and emotional well-being of the students in their classes, providing a supportive and encouraging environment for musical exploration.
  • Liaising with the Homeroom, Grade Level Teachers, and IPC/IMYC Coordinator to ensure that the programme requirements are met within the music classes taught.
  • Demonstrating effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social, and emotional dimensions of musical learning.
  • Using technology to enhance learning, integrating digital resources and tools to engage students and deepen their understanding of musical concepts.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field.
  • Current classroom teacher qualification to teach at Primary and Middle School level.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent and relevant Primary and Middle School classroom experience.
  • Experience in an international school environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience of the IPC/IMYC curriculum is advantageous.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in teaching learners with diverse needs, adapting instructional strategies to meet individual student needs in a musical context.
  • Strong classroom management skills, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Empathy and strong social skills, building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Valid Swiss work permit.


Terms and Conditions:

The contract will be on an on-call basis, with generous salary conditions applying.
