Role Overview: MYP Music Teacher
As an MYP Music Teacher, you will guide students through a dynamic curriculum focused on music theory, performance, composition, and cultural appreciation. You will teach music across Grades 6 to 10 and collaborate closely with other arts and MYP faculty members.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate MYP music lessons
- Inspire student creativity through performance, composition, and inquiry
- Develop authentic assessment strategies that support student growth
- Contribute to school concerts, ensembles, and musical productions
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning
- Incorporate digital tools and platforms to enrich the music curriculum
- Maintain open communication with parents and the school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Familiarity with the IB MYP framework and international school settings
- Strong musical background in both theory and performance
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage a multicultural student body through inclusive teaching
