This school is based in Mansourieh El Metn, Lebanon and is looking for a Middle School Performing Arts Teacher. 

Eastwood International School is seeking a passionate and creative Middle School Performing Arts Teacher for the 2024/25 academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an engaging performing arts curriculum that includes music, drama, and dance. This role involves fostering students’ artistic talents and contributing to the school’s vibrant extracurricular performing arts program.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum Development:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive performing arts curriculum for middle school students.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in music, drama, and dance.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

 

Student Assessment and Support:
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support students’ artistic development and personal growth.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs, offering additional support or enrichment activities as needed.

 

Classroom Management:
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Encourage students to take risks and explore new ideas within the performing arts.

 

Professional Development:
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in performing arts education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and instructional strategies.
  • Continuously reflect on and improve teaching practices.

 

Parental and Community Engagement:
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students’ progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and extracurricular activities to build strong relationships with families and the school community.
  • Engage with the school community to promote a positive and collaborative learning environment.

 

Extracurricular Involvement:
  • Lead and participate in school performances, productions, and other extracurricular activities related to the performing arts.
  • Encourage and guide students in participating in school concerts, plays, and other performing arts events.
  • Foster a love for the performing arts through clubs and after-school programs.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Music, Drama, Dance, or a related field.
  • Teaching diploma or certification in performing arts education.
  • Proven experience teaching performing arts at the middle school level.
  • Strong understanding of performing arts pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
