Role Summary:

Tema International School is seeking a passionate and experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive physical education curriculum that promotes fitness, health, and sportsmanship among students. Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a dynamic physical education curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes the development of fundamental movement skills, fitness concepts, and sportsmanship.
• Plan and lead engaging and age-appropriate physical education classes for students across various grade levels, incorporating a variety of activities, games, and sports.
• Assess student progress and performance in physical education through observation, skill assessments, and fitness testing, providing constructive feedback to support student growth and development.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation, cooperation, and respect for others.
• Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, intramural programs, and inter-school competitions to provide students with opportunities for skill development and teamwork.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subject areas, such as health education, science, and mathematics, through interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
• Stay current with developments in physical education pedagogy, fitness trends, and safety guidelines, incorporating best practices into teaching and curriculum design.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support the overall well-being and success of students inside and outside the classroom.
• Participate in professional development activities, department meetings, and school events to contribute to the school community and enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or licensure preferred.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in physical education at the primary or secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum frameworks, standards, and instructional strategies.
• Experience organizing and facilitating sports activities, coaching teams, or managing extracurricular programs.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and support the school’s mission and values.
