Role Summary:

Tema International School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physics Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in physics to students across various grade levels. This role presents an exciting opportunity to inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking skills, and support students in developing a deep understanding of the principles and applications of physics.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and rigorous physics lessons that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology to enhance student learning and engagement in the classroom.
  • Teach students fundamental concepts in physics, including mechanics, electricity, magnetism, thermodynamics, and modern physics.
  • Conduct hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and laboratory investigations to help students apply theoretical concepts and develop scientific inquiry skills.
  • Foster a collaborative and inquiry-based learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore scientific phenomena, and develop problem-solving abilities.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, assessments, and experiments to support student learning and growth.
  • Assess student understanding and progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, and maintain accurate records of student achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units, integrate STEM education initiatives, and support the school’s mission and goals.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress, discuss academic concerns, and collaborate on strategies for student success.
  • Participate in department meetings, professional development activities, and school events to contribute to the school community and enhance teaching practice.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in physics at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of physics curriculum frameworks, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and academic achievement.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to inspiring a love of science and inquiry in students.
  • Experience with international or IB curriculum preferred.
