Role Overview
As a PYP Homeroom Teacher, you will guide primary students through transdisciplinary learning experiences within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework. You will plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons, encourage student voice and choice, and support learners’ social-emotional development. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to create a cohesive and engaging teaching environment that fosters curiosity and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the PYP curriculum through dynamic and student-centered instruction
- Promote inquiry-based learning across subjects and real-world topics
- Assess student progress using varied and meaningful assessment methods
- Support students in developing strong academic and interpersonal skills
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers on curriculum planning and school initiatives
- Build positive partnerships with parents to support student well-being
- Integrate technology as a tool to enhance teaching and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar teaching role
- Strong understanding of international curricula, preferably PYP
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in English and experience in multicultural settings
- Commitment to professional development and school improvement
- Ability to form strong relationships with students, families, and staff
- Enthusiasm for using technology in modern learning environments
