Role Overview: PYP Math Teacher
As a PYP Math Teacher, you will deliver inquiry-based mathematics instruction aligned with IB PYP standards. You will support students in building strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, while fostering a love for numbers and logical reasoning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging math lessons aligned with IB PYP objectives
- Integrate mathematics across transdisciplinary units of inquiry
- Monitor and assess student learning through formative and summative tools
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
- Collaborate with PYP colleagues and contribute to school-wide learning initiatives
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and goals
- Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance math instruction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., B.Ed., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international setting
- Strong understanding of PYP curriculum and inquiry-based teaching strategies
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Enthusiastic, self-directed, and committed to continuous professional development
