Role Overview: PYP Mathematics Teacher
The PYP Mathematics Teacher will create an engaging learning environment that supports inquiry, conceptual understanding, and real-world problem-solving. This role requires collaboration with colleagues to deliver a transdisciplinary curriculum aligned with IB PYP standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate math lessons based on IB PYP principles
- Integrate math instruction across transdisciplinary units
- Use varied assessment strategies to guide instruction and measure student growth
- Foster mathematical thinking, creativity, and confidence
- Collaborate with the teaching team to enhance curriculum planning
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and school-wide events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or recognized qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed.)
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school
- In-depth knowledge of mathematics pedagogy and inquiry-based learning
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to incorporate educational technology into teaching
- Commitment to cultural inclusivity and student-centered learning
