Role Overview
The successful candidate will teach chemistry to students from Grade 7 to Grade 12, including advanced IB Chemistry courses. You will design and deliver interactive lessons, conduct laboratory experiments, and help students develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality chemistry lessons aligned with Alberta and IB curriculum standards
- Incorporate laboratory experiments to deepen student understanding
- Integrate digital tools and modern teaching strategies into lessons
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback
- Collaborate with science faculty on curriculum development and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain regular communication with parents to support student achievement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least three years of secondary-level chemistry teaching experience
- Experience with Alberta or IB curriculum preferred
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching practices
