Role Overview

The Secondary Design & Technology Teacher will deliver engaging and practical lessons that encourage students to think critically, design creatively, and apply problem-solving skills. The teacher will guide students in developing prototypes, using modern technologies, and preparing for success in IGCSE and IB examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Design & Technology across secondary year levels, preparing students for IGCSE and IB.
• Plan innovative, hands-on projects that encourage creativity and technical skills.
• Foster design thinking, engineering concepts, and sustainability awareness.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and track progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary projects.
• Support extracurricular programs such as design clubs, robotics, or technology fairs.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international setting.
• Strong knowledge of IGCSE and IB Design & Technology curricula.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using modern design tools and technologies.
• Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching practices.
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
