Role Overview
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will teach a range of English courses, from literature and creative writing to academic analysis and communication. You will develop engaging lessons that build students’ confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking, while preparing them for success in higher education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the Australian curriculum and IBDP framework
- Inspire students to develop strong analytical, creative, and communication skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback
- Integrate technology to enhance learning outcomes
- Contribute to curriculum development and cross-department collaboration
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture
- Engage actively in school events, co-curricular activities, and wider community initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience at the secondary level
- Familiarity with international curricula, particularly Australian or IB
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching practices
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
