Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will guide students through literature, writing, and language studies while developing their analytical and communication skills. You will implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the American curriculum and promote a love of reading, writing, and discussion. Collaboration with other faculty members and contribution to school-wide literacy initiatives are essential parts of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English Language Arts to middle and high school students
Create lesson plans that meet academic standards and promote active learning
Foster reading comprehension, creative writing, and critical analysis skills
Use a variety of instructional strategies and digital tools to support learning
Track and assess student progress through regular evaluations and feedback
Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and school events
Engage in ongoing professional development and curriculum enhancement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum two years of teaching experience at the secondary level
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
