About Vietnam Finland International School (VFIS)
Established in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Finland International School is the first institution in Southeast Asia to implement the Finnish education philosophy. As a non-profit school, VFIS offers two academic pathways: an international program based on the Finnish National Core Curriculum and a bilingual program that integrates the Vietnamese curriculum with Finnish pedagogical elements.
VFIS is also an IB World School, authorized to deliver the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Role Summary: Social Studies and History Teacher
As a Social Studies and History Teacher, you will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction aligned with international standards. You will guide students in developing historical understanding while contributing to a supportive and inclusive classroom culture. You will also collaborate with colleagues to enrich the curriculum and participate in extracurricular activities that enhance student learning and school life.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or internationally recognized certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for social sciences
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning effectively
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and school improvement
- Strong collaboration skills and enthusiasm for working in a diverse, international setting
