This school is based in Zug, Switzerland and is looking for a Substitute Teacher for the Primary School.

The International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher for the Primary School. This position involves providing necessary cover for teachers of all classes at our Zug Campus (EY1 – Grade 5, including specialist lessons). The Substitute Teacher works in collaboration with the Assistant Principals to cover teachers who may be absent due to illness or attending professional development.

Responsibilities:
Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide cover for teachers or Assistant Teachers in the Primary School under the direction of the Assistant Principals.
  • Be aware of students with particular medical needs, learning needs (EAL, LS), or behavioral needs.
  • Follow the plans/guide for the day provided by the teacher closely.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to students about their learning.
  • Be mindful of the routines and structures used by the teacher and explain any changes to the routine to students.
  • Provide feedback to the teacher about the day’s learning, student behavior, and share any potential concerns.
  • Communicate general information to parents and refer specific questions or concerns to the teacher.
  • Support students and faculty in outdoor learning and lunchroom supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Primary Principal or Assistant Principals.

 

Required and Preferred Qualifications:
  • Qualified and experienced teacher, preferably across a range of ages.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, function effectively under pressure, and be flexible.
  • Pleasant and friendly personality.
  • Candidates must have a Swiss or EU passport/valid Swiss work permit (or be approved for a Swiss work visa).

 

Compensation: Compensation for this position is competitive globally and commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
