Role Overview: IB MYP Theatre & Music Teacher
As the Theatre & Music Teacher, you will lead engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB MYP objectives. You will help students explore the performing arts, build confidence, and cultivate artistic expression through drama and music. This role encourages creativity, collaboration, and performance-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver innovative lessons in Theatre and Music
- Promote interdisciplinary learning within the IB MYP framework
- Organize student performances and support arts-based school events
- Assess student work using formative and summative IB criteria
- Integrate digital tools to enhance student creativity and musical production
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and cross-subject initiatives
- Provide constructive feedback that supports student growth and confidence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theatre, Music, Performing Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools
- Strong knowledge of the IB MYP Arts curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for arts education in a multicultural setting
- Technological proficiency for music and performance instruction
