This school is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator.

Principal Role: The Health and Safety Coordinator at Jeddah Prep & Grammar School is responsible for ensuring that the school environment is safe for all students, staff, and visitors. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to comply with local regulations and international best practices. The Health and Safety Coordinator will promote a culture of safety and well-being throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Develop, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and international best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

 

Training and Awareness:
  • Organize and deliver health and safety training for staff, students, and visitors.
  • Promote awareness of health and safety issues through regular communications and initiatives.
  • Coordinate emergency drills, such as fire evacuations and lockdown procedures.

 

Incident Management:
  • Investigate and report on health and safety incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and corrective actions taken.
  • Provide recommendations to prevent future incidents.

 

Facility Management:
  • Work closely with the facilities team to ensure that the school premises are safe and well-maintained.
  • Monitor and inspect school facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of health and safety measures in school projects and renovations.

 

Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit health and safety reports to school management and regulatory authorities.
  • Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.

 

Health and Well-being:
  • Promote a culture of health and well-being within the school community.
  • Implement programs and initiatives to support the physical and mental well-being of students and staff.
  • Liaise with external health and safety organizations and consultants as needed.

 

Required Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Certification in health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of local health and safety regulations and international best practices.
