Role Overview: IB MYP Visual Art Teacher
The successful candidate will lead engaging and inquiry-driven Visual Arts classes for middle school students in the IB MYP framework. You will help students explore various art forms and media while fostering critical thinking, visual literacy, and personal expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, creative Visual Art instruction aligned with MYP objectives
- Inspire students to explore traditional and contemporary art practices
- Develop units of inquiry that integrate conceptual understanding and technical skills
- Guide students through the creative process, critiques, and reflective learning
- Incorporate digital tools and technology in visual arts projects
- Maintain a visually stimulating classroom that showcases student work
- Support art exhibitions, collaborative projects, and schoolwide initiatives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in visual arts, preferably in MYP
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP Visual Arts curriculum
- Demonstrated classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to inspire students in a multicultural environment
- Proficiency in integrating technology into visual art education
- Commitment to continuous professional growth
