Role Overview: Visual Arts Teacher (IB MYP)
As a Visual Arts Teacher, you will lead engaging, project-based art instruction for MYP students. You will design and deliver lessons that cultivate artistic skills, conceptual thinking, and cultural exploration, while aligning with IB standards and assessment practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement MYP visual arts units that inspire student creativity
- Encourage experimentation with various media, styles, and cultural influences
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide student growth
- Support interdisciplinary learning through art integration projects
- Maintain an inclusive, inquiry-driven classroom environment
- Participate in exhibitions, arts events, and school-wide initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues across subject areas to enrich student experiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching visual arts, ideally in an international school
- Familiarity with the IB MYP framework and assessment practices
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for engaging students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Proficiency in using digital tools for art instruction and portfolio creation
