About Mountainview Christian School
Founded in 1981, Mountainview Christian School is a private K–12 Christian international school that serves expatriate families, particularly those engaged in service and missionary work across Asia. Located in the semi-rural town of Salatiga, Central Java, MCS provides a nurturing boarding and day school environment for approximately 230 students from around the world. The school delivers an American-style, faith-based curriculum that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and Christ-centered character development.
With a dedicated staff and strong community values, MCS is committed to shaping students into globally minded servant leaders. The school also offers a family-style dormitory program for students in grades 7–12, helping create a supportive and spiritually enriching residential experience.
Role Overview: Head of School
As Head of School, you will provide strategic and spiritual leadership for the entire school community. You will oversee academic programs, faculty development, student well-being, and administrative operations, while aligning all initiatives with the school’s Christian mission and long-term goals. This role requires a servant leader who can inspire staff, support students, and strengthen partnerships with families and local communities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license
- Minimum of two years in a senior leadership role within a K–12 school
- Deep understanding of Christian education and international school culture
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
- Proven ability to mentor teachers and build strong teams
- Commitment to spiritual growth, academic rigor, and cultural inclusivity
- Tech-savvy with the ability to integrate technology in school operations and learning
