Role Overview

As a Visual Arts Teacher at BIS, you will guide students in exploring artistic techniques, visual storytelling, and creative problem-solving. You will design engaging lessons that connect traditional and contemporary art forms while encouraging students to think critically and express their individuality.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, skill-based visual arts lessons for different grade levels
• Inspire students to experiment with various artistic media and styles
• Promote creative thinking, self-expression, and cultural appreciation
• Integrate art with other disciplines to support holistic learning
• Organize exhibitions, art shows, and collaborative art projects
• Maintain an engaging, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment
• Evaluate student work and provide constructive, personalized feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international curriculum (Cambridge or IB)
• Strong understanding of art history, techniques, and global art perspectives
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
• High proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural international school setting
• Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in art education
