Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secondary Mathematics Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver high-standard mathematics instruction across various secondary levels. You will lead a dynamic learning environment, primarily delivering the Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and A-Level Mathematics programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, engaging Mathematics lessons that align fully with the Cambridge International curriculum standards.
• Develop and execute instructional units that promote inquiry-based learning and the practical application of mathematical theories.
• Assess student progress consistently using formative and summative tools to track academic growth and provide personalized feedback for examination preparation.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to investigate real-world STEM challenges and mathematical puzzles.
• Collaborate consistently with department colleagues to refine curriculum delivery and share innovative teaching strategies across the secondary school.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student academic achievement and well-being.
• Utilize new technologies, such as graphic display calculators, digital simulations, and the school’s Learning Management System, to enhance instruction.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as math competitions, STEM fairs, or coding clubs.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-wide training and authorized Cambridge professional development workshops.
• Build strong relationships with students and colleagues to support the holistic growth of the VAS community.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for secondary education.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a secondary Mathematics position or a similar role.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong familiarity with international curricula, specifically the Cambridge International program (IGCSE/A-Level).
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community.
