Role Overview: AP Biology Teacher
As an AP Biology Teacher, you will guide high school students through a comprehensive and challenging science curriculum. You will design engaging lessons that foster inquiry, develop laboratory skills, and encourage independent scientific thinking. You will also prepare students for success on the AP Biology exam while helping them build the knowledge and confidence required for university-level science courses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or a related scientific field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an AP or international curriculum
- Deep subject matter expertise in biology, including molecular biology, genetics, and ecology
- Strong classroom management and effective communication skills
- Experience working in multicultural school settings
- Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Familiarity with educational technology tools for interactive learning
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Passion for fostering inquiry-based learning and scientific literacy
