Role: Design Technology Teacher
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering creative and engaging lessons that inspire students to explore the world of design, engineering, and technology. You will provide students with the tools and knowledge to design, create, and innovate, preparing them for a future in STEM-related fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Design Technology, focusing on practical skills and creative problem-solving.
- Guide students through the design process, from concept to production, fostering innovation and critical thinking.
- Ensure lessons are interactive and engaging, utilizing both traditional and digital tools to enhance learning.
- Support students in GCSE Design Technology, helping them develop both theoretical and practical skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop a comprehensive and integrated curriculum.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and the wider school community, providing regular updates on progress and achievements.
- Encourage students to engage in extracurricular activities related to design, technology, and innovation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching GCSE Design Technology with a track record of excellent student outcomes.
- Ability to share best practices and collaborate within a team.
- Passion for career growth and commitment to leadership and sustainability in education.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching both in and outside the classroom.
- Strong IT and communication skills to effectively work with students, parents, and colleagues.
