Role: EY/Primary Music Teacher
The EY/Primary Music Teacher will play a key role in developing students’ musical abilities, creativity, and appreciation for different musical styles. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, innovation, and a student-centered approach to music education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver an engaging music curriculum for early years and primary students.
- Teach fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, melody, pitch, and notation.
- Introduce students to a variety of musical instruments and encourage hands-on learning.
- Lead singing, movement, and instrumental activities to enhance students’ musical skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and confidence.
- Organize and direct school concerts, musical performances, and extracurricular music programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into the broader IB curriculum.
- Stay updated with best practices in music education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, QTS, or equivalent).
- A minimum of two years’ teaching experience (preferred).
- Experience with the IB curriculum is desirable but not essential.
- Strong skills in vocal and instrumental instruction.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Passion for music education and inspiring young learners.
