Role Overview: High School Economics Teacher

As a High School Economics Teacher, you will teach economics to upper secondary students, including IB Diploma Programme (DP) learners. You will design engaging lessons that promote analytical thinking, real-world application of economic concepts, and strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Economics courses aligned with IB DP or other international curricula
• Create lesson plans that build critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Assess student progress using varied and authentic assessments
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure interdisciplinary integration
• Support students in internal assessments and exam preparation
• Engage in continuous professional development and curriculum enrichment
• Participate actively in school-wide events and community initiatives
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, inquiry, and global awareness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• At least 2 years of experience teaching high school Economics
• Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme or similar international curricula
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching global economic issues
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Proactive, collaborative, and committed to student-centered learning
• Competence in using educational technology to support instruction
