Role Overview: IB DP Economics Teacher

As an IB DP Economics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and rigorous lessons aligned with the IB curriculum. You will guide students in understanding microeconomics, macroeconomics, and global economic systems, while encouraging analysis, debate, and real-world application.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach the IB DP Economics syllabus to senior secondary students
• Encourage inquiry-based learning and the use of current economic events in discussions
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations
• Design lessons that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and intercultural understanding
• Use data to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with faculty to support interdisciplinary learning
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Contribute to curriculum development and school-wide academic initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or a related field
• Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum two years of experience teaching Economics, preferably in an IB or international school
• Deep understanding of IB Economics and international education standards
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Fluent English proficiency (spoken and written)
• Commitment to student-centered learning and ongoing professional development
• Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning
