Role Overview
The Middle School Drama Teacher will lead engaging drama classes that encourage students to express themselves through performance, improvisation, and creative storytelling. The teacher will inspire students to build confidence, communication skills, and teamwork through theater. In addition, this role involves organizing school plays, productions, and other performance-based events that enrich the cultural life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach drama to middle school students, focusing on performance, improvisation, and theater appreciation
- Design lessons that foster creativity, collaboration, and self-expression
- Direct school plays, performances, and cultural events
- Provide constructive feedback to help students grow as performers
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama into interdisciplinary projects
- Support school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Drama, Theater Arts, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Strong knowledge of drama education, performance, and production
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning
- Commitment to professional development and innovative teaching practices
- Fluency in spoken and written English
