Role Overview
The Primary Mathematics Teacher will play a vital role in designing and delivering engaging math lessons for primary students. The role involves promoting problem-solving, critical thinking, and a positive attitude toward learning mathematics. Teachers at YK Pao collaborate across grade levels, integrate modern teaching practices, and help shape a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics to primary school students following a bilingual and international curriculum
- Develop creative lesson plans that encourage inquiry and critical thinking
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing individualized support
- Use technology and interactive methods to enhance math instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school-wide initiatives
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in professional development and contribute to extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Familiarity with international curricula (IGCSE, IB, or equivalent)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Independent, proactive, and committed to continuous professional growth
