School Counselor – Etqan Global Academy, Doha

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is looking for a compassionate and experienced School Counselor to join its team in Doha, Qatar. This role offers a unique opportunity to support students’ academic, emotional, and social well-being in an International Baccalaureate (IB) learning environment.

Founded in 2019, Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is an IB World School dedicated to providing a rigorous, globally recognized education. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) with a strong focus on Arabic language and cultural studies. Role: School Counselor

As a School Counselor, you will guide students through academic, social, and emotional challenges while promoting mental well-being and personal development. This role requires a student-focused, culturally sensitive professional who understands the needs of a diverse, international student body.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ emotional, academic, and social development.
• Develop and implement student well-being programs that promote a positive school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to address behavioral, academic, and social challenges.
• Offer guidance on career exploration, study skills, and personal goal setting.
• Conduct student assessments and use data-driven approaches to develop personalized support plans.
• Work closely with school leadership and special education teams to ensure inclusive learning support.
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies when needed.
• Foster an open and supportive environment where students feel comfortable seeking guidance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of school counseling experience, preferably in an international or culturally diverse setting.
• Experience working with students from conservative cultural backgrounds is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of student assessment tools, behavioral interventions, and special education support.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is highly beneficial.
